Ravaged by the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina,
his 1965 Corvette convertible was resurrected and restored to be one sweet ride.

The car was submerged in flood waters in Slidell, LA during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. 
It was completely disassembled - every body panel, part, nut and bolt was removed and reconditioned
or replaced with a new piece in its place.  The project took 2-1/2 years to bring to completion.

This mostly original roadster is powered by a 396 cu. in. 450 hp big block with just a few mods.
We added a 
Keisler 5-speed manual transmission, Vintage Air a/c system,
and chrome American Racing "Torque Thrust D" wheels with B.F. Goodrich radial tires.

So many great sportscars and street rods were destroyed and forever lost because
of Hurricane Katrina.  We're proud to have been a part of saving this classic Corvette.

Although this was one of the nicest rides to cruise New Orleans and Houston, it was time for a change.

An RS grill, hideaway headlights, and new
Nitto 555 with 225/40/18s on the fronts and 255/35/20s on the rears on
Bonspeed Huntington Brushed wheels 7" wide up front and 8 1/2" wide in the rear were the first changes.

Out came the ZZ430 small block and in went a GM Performance 502 Ramjet that linked up to the
Keisler 5-speed transmission we previously installed about 6 months prior to this upgrade. 
The trans is driven through a Spec Racing 11" clutch with a hydraulic release bearing.
The front springs were changed to QA1 coilovers for ride height control.

A Rock Valley stainless steel fuel tank with in-tank fuel pump was added to feed the 502.

As this project comes to an end, this is a short list of all of the mods currently on this nice ride:

We're proud to say this car was a huge favorite at Cruisin' the Coast the weekend of October 9-12, 2008!


We completed a "Resto-Mod" conversion on a 1961 Corvette.  We started with a restored 1961 Corvette car with 2x4's and a 4-speed.  We installed a GM "Ramjet" fuel injected engine. The Ramjet's fuel injection unit keeps the retro Corvette Fuelie look. We linked it to an automatic transmission with a custom Billet shifter and added air conditioning.  We installed Baer "Eradispeed" 13 in. front and 14 in. rear rotors with C-5 Corvette Z06 brake calipers.  It all rolls on Billet Specialties 18 in. front and 20 in. rear wheels and BFG tires.

Mr. Karl is one of our regular customers whose 1950 Sedan Delivery, one of only 200 that was converted for the U.S. Forestry Service.  We didn't build this vehicle, but we are responsible for the custom motor work and upgrades and we keep regular maintenance for Mr. Karl. 

His "Plum Purdy" sedan was
the featured car of the month for April, 2004 on the  ClassicCarBug.com site and it was also in the Jasper Engines calendar for January, 2005.  It is also featured in issues of Southern Rodder and Cruisin' Style.Brindell

We installed Baer "Track" 13 in. front and "Sport" 12 in. rear brakes and topped them off with a set of Boyd's "Magneto" 18 in. wheels rolling on Bridgestone Potenza's.

It sure is Plum Purdy!
